April 2018 Dusty Attic DT Project

Today I am sharing my April 2018 Blogpost project for Dusty Attic. Once again I used a photo of my youngest daughter on her Matric Farewell Dance. I used papers from Authentique...Cherish, Smitten and Tidings.

I simply coloured my Chipboards, with Distress Oxides, Aged Mahogany and Forest Moss.

The title and the Birdhouses where gesso'd and embossed with Lindy's Embossing Powders, Oakleaf Olive and Peacock Angel Wings.

I coloured the Dusty Bling flourish with a little Green Rust Effect Paste from Finnabair. Isn't it great that one can change the appearance of any bling with just a little product to make it look all different?

On the raw film strip chipboard I rubbed a little Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse...

From our awesome Dusty Attic wholesaler Shop you can find these and many more amazing products...

Thank you for taking the time to visit...Greetings and well wishes

~~~ Cherish~~~
2018 March Dusty Attic Moodboard
Hello Friends....
This month the Dusty Attic Moodboard inspiration is filled with soft pastel colours and blooms...I used all the colours, Pinks, Blues and Yellows and also an abundance of blooms on my page. I used papers from 49&Market,  Botanical Press from the Vintage Artistry Range. The flowers are from Little Birdies. I had another photo and chipboard in mind, but when I came upon this photo of my eldest daughter from early 1987, I had to use it on this page.
I used two paper sheets, the top one was torn at the ends, my idea was to create a floral arrangement spilling from the bottom to the top layer...Three packets of flowers gave my a beautiful arrangement.
I gesso'd the Mystic Frame #2 and Paisly #3  and embossed them with the following Lindy Stampgang Embossing Powders, Bonjour Butter, Raspberry Lemonade and Tilt-a-Wheel Teal.
I used the Dusty Attic Rose Stencil  with Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks to create some interest in the background. A little bit of hand stitching and my page was done ...
There is still enough time to get your Moodboard inspired creation added, There are two $50 Prizes up for grabs! Have a look at what is to offer in the Dusty Attic Shop...
~~~Now is the Time~~~
March 2018 Dusty Attic DT Project

Time again for my March DT project for Dusty Attic....
I took an ordinary Black Hardcover Notebook that I use to write my notes in, and made it gorgeous with several Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces.

I covered it with a nice, thick layer of heavy Gesso. Made some patterns in it and and added pieces of the Large Geometric 12x12 panel. After adding some white crackle paste over and around the chipboard pieces and letting it air-dry, I painted it with some Cashmere Paint mixed with Lindy's Stampgang 'Glory Of The Seas Gold' Starburst Spray. Also painted with watered down Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink. I added a good spray of Lindy's Tawny Turquoise Moon Shadow Mist in the Geometric shapes leaving it to pool and add glorious shimmer to the project.

On the raw Vintage Clock #1 I sprayed Lindy's Bayou Boogie Gold and Shabby Turbine Teal Sprays. I used Prima Rust Pastes on the Gem Drop Border and the Decorative Keyhole and covered them with a thick layer of Clear Crackle Varnish...

Some Little Birdie flowers, a Tim Holtz Paper Doll and a few rusted washers complete the transformation of a dull black cover to a yummylisious Mixed Media item!

If you would like to try your hand at something similar, here in the Dusty Attic Shop is where you can find the Dusty Attic products I have used....

Thank you for your visit...

~Create Art~
Dusty Attic DT February 2018

Hello to all my blog friends.
Beginning of a new month means that it's my turn again on the Dusty Attic blog post. Once again I have used my favourite chipboards to decorate a Journal Cover. I have quite a few of these Journals and use different ones for different types of Art. For this one I mixed a little rusty industrial with a little bit of Shabbiness. I am loving the look I achieved of using Lindy's Stampgang Embossing Powder on the Rust effected chipboards.
The paper and flowers are from 49&Market, the Scents of Nature collection.

All the pieces where gesso'd. I then added different colours of Prima Rust Pastes. I used Brown and Red paste, and mixed a little blue acrylic paint with Mint Green Patina Paste which gave me the Bluish Purple colour.  I also embossed with the following embossing powders, Cosmic Pink Blue and Raspberry Lemonade. The trellis parts of the Industrial Scroll was painted with Iris Potion Sparks Paint from Prima.
On the white flowers from 49&Market I rubbed some waxes, Royal Robes Opal Magic and Bronze Age Metallique Wax.

The title was embossed with Cosmic Pink Blue and Lapis Lazuli Blue Gold embossing powders. I also sprinkled some of the Blue Gold on the corrugated board...The little Butterfly was embossed with both the Cosmic Pink Blue and the Raspberry Lemonade.

Please visit the Dusty Attic store where you will find all the products I used and many more....

Leaving you for now with the following Quote....Thank you for your visit, it is much appreciated....
